John Lynch’s areas of expertise include:
Intellectual Property, Information Technology, Entertainment and Media Law: John counsels clients on all aspects of copyright
and trademark, content acquisition and exploitation, software and technology systems development, social media policy, licensing of
intellectual property and information technology, and film, television and music production.
Business Law: John counsel’s clients on a wide variety of business law matters, including business formation, financing,
contracts, charitable organizations, employment agreements and employee policies and commercial litigation. John’s clients include,
among others, software developers, fashion designers, bars & restaurants, media companies, producers & artists, medical professionals,
and numerous entrepreneurs and business owners
Litigation: John has litigated a broad range of matters, including copyright, trademark and patent infringement, technology
systems litigation, the defense of defamation, privacy and other media claims, contract and business disputes, unfair competition and
trade secrets, and employment and labor. John has conducted trials, appeals, evidentiary hearings, arbitrations and mediations.
Education and Professional Experience: John received his law degree at St. John’s University School of Law, where he earned
Dean’s list honors and served as an Associate Editor of the Law Review. John earned his BA in a three-year baccalaureate program at
St. John’s University.
Following law school, John clerked at the New York court of Appeals for the Honorable Fritz W. Alexander and then practiced at
several major New York City law firms including Pryor Cashman, Jacobs DeBrauwere, Brown Raysman & Millstien and Squadron Ellenoff
Plesent & Lehrer
John is admitted to practice in New York State, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New
York and the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
John regularly speaks on topics related to intellectual property, information technology and media at bar associations and
industry groups, and is the author of published articles on a variety of topics.
